Eunice, La.- Acadiana native Elby Derouen has accepted the position of Agriculture and Commercial Lender at the Eunice Branch located at 300 Park Avenue. Born and raised in Ville Platte, Derouen attended McNeese State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Science with a concentration on agribusiness.  In this position, Derouen will assist farmers, ranchers and others in the agricultural business with farm loans, equipment financing, operating loans, and lines of credit.

“Elby certainly knows his way around the farm,” said President and CEO Boyd R. Boudreaux. “He worked with a local dealer selling farm equipment throughout the south, so he understands the farmers’ needs and the unique nature of their business. I’m excited he will use that experience to work closely with our community farmers,” Boudreaux added.

“I’ve always been intrigued with farming, and I get to be out on the farm every day,” Derouen said. “I’m looking forward to my job as a commercial lender and agriculture lender with Louisiana’s Community Bank. From day one, we’ve always been about customer service. That’s what builds a business. Farmers have to be on the job, in the field, they have very long days.  To make it convenient for them, sometimes you have to jump in the tractor with them to get business done,” Derouen added.

When not at work, Elby enjoys time with his 6-month-old son, Jacob, and his wife, Jennifer.
