JENNINGS, La. – Leonards attended the ABA Community Bankers Council meeting in Washington, D.C. October 2-4, where bankers discussed the current challenges and opportunities facing community banks across the country, including recent regulations, pending legislation, cybersecurity, and innovation.

“Community banks are such a vital part of our financial industry’s infrastructure, this appointment gives me the opportunity to represent Louisiana and to advocate for the continued success of America’s hometown banks,” said Leonards.

Leonards is a Certified Public Accountant and graduate of McNeese State University.  She started with JD Bank in 1998 as a Loan Officer.  Leonards was recently promoted to Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer after having served as Executive Vice President-Chief Operating Officer since 2012.

The ABA Community Bankers Council is made up of approximately 100 bankers from institutions across the nation, with two representatives serving from each state. Members are appointed by the ABA chairman.
