Carly Leonards of JD Bank was honored by The Southwest Louisiana Economic Development Alliance at the organization’s Annual Women’s Business Network Awards Luncheon. Leonards was recognized with the Established Business Leader Award as an exemplary woman in business.

The event was held at L’Auberge Casino Resort, and was attended by Leonards’ family and several JD Bank employees. Leonards was recently promoted to Sr. Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer after having served as Executive Vice President-Chief Operating Officer since 2012.

The Established Business Leader Award honors a successful businesswoman and is based on nominations from fellow business leaders. An Established Business Leader is active in the community by serving on charitable boards and volunteering. She is a mentor – sharing her experience and advice as an expert in her field and as an example of what is right in the community. A team of judges reviewed all entries before selecting the winner.

Leonards, a Certified Public Accountant and graduate of McNeese State University, started with JD Bank in 1998 as a Loan Officer. She is the mother of three teenagers and is heavily involved in the community throughout the region, including serving as the President of the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Louisiana, and Treasurer of the Kiwanis Club of Jennings. Leonards’ children often join her on Habitat for Humanity home rebuild and repair projects.

The Southwest Louisiana Economic Development Alliance serves the Parishes of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron and Jefferson Davis and has over 1,500 members. The Annual Women’s Business Network Awards Luncheon has celebrated women in business for six years.
