Since 1947, JD Bank has been serving southwest Louisiana. Through the years we have seen the communities that we serve grow, and we are honored to have the support of our many loyal customers.

We are very knowledgeable about our customers at JD Bank. With that in mind, we want our customers to be as familiar with our organization as we are with them. This section of our website provides our customers with all the information they could need to get to know us better.

Jeff Davis Bank & Trust Co. was organized. Charter secured from the Office of Financial Institutions on November 8th.
1946
1947
Frank Gallaugher was hired as Chief Executive Officer on January 1st. Jeff Davis Bank opened for business on March 12th.

The bank moved to a new facility with a drive-in feature, which was the first in Jefferson Davis Parish.

The first Lake Arthur branch was opened for business on July 10th.

Additional Jennings branches were opened on Roberts Avenue and West Division Street.

The Iowa branch was opened on the corner of Kinney Street and Highway 90.

A larger Lake Arthur facility was opened on the corner of 4th Street and Arthur Avenue in May.

1990
The stockholders approved the acquisition of Jeff Davis Bank by Jeff Davis Bancshares, Inc. on September 25th. Jeff Davis Bancshares, Inc. became effective on November 1st.

The downtown Welsh branch on South Adams Street was opened. Jeff Davis Bank implemented technological improvements throughout our operations enhancing the quality of customer service.

Construction of the Kinder branch was completed in April. Jeff Davis Bank opened offices in the Greater Lake Charles area on August 4th.

The Sulphur branch was opened.

1999
The corporate office on Elton Road in Jennings was opened. The Lake Charles branch on Nelson Road was opened in October.

2003
The Hwy 14 office opened in Lake Charles. This is the seventh office opened in Calcasieu Parish.

Carlyss opened in a temporary location while the permanent location was built next door.

The permanent office in Carlyss opened.

The Sulphur and Kinder offices were remodeled and expanded.

Remodeling of the Jennings office was completed in December.

Both Loan Services and Kirby offices finished their remodeling projects. The Moss Bluff office was also renovated in late 2011.

Ground was broken on the Big Lake and Morganfield branches in November. The acquisition of Guaranty Bank (Mamou, La) was finalized in December. Branches were opened in Eunice, Mamou, Vidrine and Ville Platte.

In June, Jeff Davis Bank & Trust Company officially changed its name to JD Bank. In July, the Morganfield and Big Lake offices opened for business.

In June, a loan production office was opened in Lafayette, with plans to open full service branches in Opelousas, Lafayette and New Iberia. The Westlake branch was also opened in June.

In January, a loan production office was opened in Opelousas. In February, full service offices were opened in Lafayette and New Iberia. JD Bank now has 24 offices throughout SWLA and Acadiana.

Opelousas is opened as a full-service office.

JD Bancshares, Inc. appointed Bruce W. Elder as President & CEO.

In August, a second location opened in New Iberia on Admiral Doyle.

In May, a second Lafayette location opened on Johnston St. All offices received new exterior paint jobs.

Our 75th Anniversary was celebrated with a $75,000 donation to 25 charitable organizations throughout the JD Bank footprint. Opened Sale Road location in Lake Charles, two years after the McNeese Branch was destroyed by Hurricane Laura.
