Jennings, LA – JD Bank has received an unexpected financial gift from the employees and directors of Houston-based Allegiance Bank. The gift is intended to help JD Bank staff impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Laura.

“On behalf of the employees of JD Bank who have suffered both property and emotional distress resulting from Hurricane Laura, we are so grateful for the donation and for the words of encouragement we’ve received from Allegiance Bank employees,” said Bruce W. Elder, President and CEO of JD Bank.

The Allegiance Bank gift comes in the spirit of paying it forward. In 2017, Connecticut based Bankwell Bank
presented a financial gift to Allegiance Bank following the devastation of Hurricane Harvey in Houston. In making the gift, Allegiance Bank Chairman Steve Retzloff said, “Paying their generosity forward to assist the impacted employees of JD Bank at this time is but one more example that together community banks do make a difference in the lives we touch. To that purpose we are indeed united. Thank you JD Bank for all you do for southern Louisiana.”

According to Allegiance Bank, JD Bank was chosen to receive this gift by an Allegiance team for representing the values that uphold the deeper meaning of being a community bank. “We look forward to the opportunity for JD Bank to pay this generosity forward ourselves,” said Elder.
